Eunice Kathleen Waymon more known as Nina Simone, was an American singer, songwriter and musician. With a classical background, her music soon spanned a broad range of musical styles in the 50s and 60s including jazz, blues, folk, R&B or gospel. The 60s often bellicose civil rights activism in which she found herself involved, changed her life perspective deeply. At that crucial moment she wrote songs like Mississippi Goddam or To be young, gifted and black, which would become battle hymns.

Nina Simone has been an all time icon for the creative director of the Firm, Yolanda Pérez. Furthermore, the words of the iconic artist and activist in an interview in 1968 were the trigger and the concept that inspired the 2020 Bridal collection. “Freedom is just a feeling. Is like how do you tell somebody how it feels to be in love? I’ll tell you what freedom means to me: No fear”. From the conversation the creative director built all the narrative of the 2020 wedding dresses collection, named after Nina Simone herself, No Fear.
